Frequently Asked Questions

What is the importance of dental x-rays?

Our dentists carefully assess the necessity for x-rays based on multiple factors, including your symptoms, age, and dental history. If you maintain good oral health with a low rate of tooth decay, you may require fewer x-rays.

To prioritise your safety and minimise radiation exposure, we employ digital x-rays, which pose minimal risk. Your dentist will only recommend x-rays when they believe the benefits outweigh any potential risks. If you have had x-rays taken at another dental practice, it’s beneficial to obtain copies to share with us. Similarly, if you choose to visit another dental practice after receiving x-rays at Coolamon Dental Centre, we are pleased to forward them to your new dentist.

What is the purpose of completing a medical history form?

At Coolamon Dental Centre, we kindly ask you to complete a medical history form, as it is a standard practice in our dental clinic and an essential tool for our dental team to understand your overall health, medical conditions, medications, allergies, and other relevant health information.

Providing us with your medical history enables our dentists to have a comprehensive understanding of any conditions or medications that may impact your oral health or influence the dental treatment we provide. Your safety and well-being are our utmost priorities, and having accurate and comprehensive information allows us to tailor our dental care to meet your specific needs.

Please be assured that all the information you provide is kept strictly confidential and used solely for your dental treatment and care. We appreciate your cooperation in completing the medical history form, as it enables us to deliver the highest standard of dental care and ensure the best possible outcomes for your oral health.

How much are the treatments?

Determining the cost of dental treatment can be challenging without evaluating the patient’s specific needs. While we can provide prices over the phone for routine check-ups, consultations, and x-rays, the actual cost of treatment will be determined after a comprehensive examination by the dentist.

During your check-up or consultation visit, the dentist will develop a treatment plan if further dental work is necessary. This plan will closely estimate the expected procedures. However, it’s crucial to understand that adjustments may be required once treatment begins. For example, while decay can be identified from an x-ray, its full extent may only be apparent once the dentist starts treating the tooth.

Our priority is to offer accurate treatment plans and transparent pricing. Rest assured that our dental team will communicate any necessary adjustments and keep you informed throughout your dental journey. Your oral health and satisfaction are our ultimate goals, and we strive to deliver the best possible dental care tailored to your individual needs.

Everyone working at Coolamon Dental are so helpful & friendly. Dr. Gen is so patient with me knowing I am terrified of going to the dentist. The ladies in reception put you at ease as soon as you come in the door. They are so friendly & have a laugh with you which helps when you are so nervous. The dentist explains everything that's going to be done so there are no surprises. The rooms are absolutely spotless. I now don't mind going to this dentist. Can highly recommend Coolamon Dental.

Shaun and Jenny were fantastic.
I came in for a toothache and they were able to fit me in. I'm a nervous patient and Shaun did an amazing job of calming my nerves and explaining the issue and options and then sorted the problem with minimal discomfort.

I'll be back for regular checkups!

The staff here are all very friendly and helpful. The dentist was gentle and thoughtful. As I'm in a wheelchair he and his nurse were also very helpful. I recommend this practice and will go to them in the future.
